Which panel type do you need?

Slat (fluted) wood panels: vertical wood slats on a felt backing. They add warmth and cut echo in living rooms, offices and media rooms, and they cut to size with a fine-tooth saw.

3D textured panels: moulded relief patterns that read as a sculpted wall. Best on a single feature wall, behind a bed or a reception desk.

Waterproof PVC panels: sealed panels for showers, tub surrounds and laundry rooms. They install over a flat substrate and need no grout, so there is nothing to scrub.
Planning and installation
Measure the wall, divide by the panel coverage and add about 10% for cuts. Most panels install with construction adhesive, and slat panels can also be screwed through the felt backing into studs for a removable install. Let panels sit in the room for 48 hours before fixing them so they adjust to indoor humidity, and start from a plumb line rather than a corner, because corners are rarely square.
Acoustics
Slat panels with a felt backing reduce echo inside a room, which makes speech clearer on video calls and in open-plan spaces. They are not soundproofing: to stop sound passing between units you need mass and isolation in the wall assembly itself.

Can wall panels go in a bathroom?
Waterproof PVC panels can, including shower surrounds when installed per the manufacturer instructions. Wood slat panels are for dry rooms only.
How are wall panels installed?
Most are glued with construction adhesive to a flat, dry wall. Slat panels can also be screwed into studs, which makes them removable later.
Do wall panels soundproof a room?
Slat panels absorb echo within the room, which makes it sound calmer. They do not block sound between rooms or units.
